The head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdul Rahman Mustafa, stated that the security institutions will not allow any chaos or lawlessness to occur in Afrin.
Mustafa continued, in a series of tweets on his Twitter account, that the Syrian Interim Government continues to administer the city of Afrin, and that our civil and military institutions are still operating at full capacity and continue to provide services to the city of Afrin.
This came hours after HTS took control of the entire city of Afrin in the northern countryside of Aleppo, after the "Third Legion" factions of the National Army withdrew from the city.
The forces of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allied factions (Al-Hamza Division – Suleiman Shah) entered the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo, on Thursday morning, and entered the Muhammadiyah neighborhood of the city.
Clashes took place on the outskirts of the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo, on the axis of Marata, and the surroundings of the city of Afrin were intensively bombed, causing civilian casualties, including women and children.
