On Tuesday morning, Jassem city in the northern countryside of Daraa witnessed violent confrontations between the regime forces and a group of wanted men with automatic weapons, which resulted in human losses.
According to local sources, the clashes came after the regime's joint security patrol attempted to storm a building in the western neighborhood of Jassem city.
Ahrar Houran Gathering stated that violent clashes with light and medium weapons took place between the two sides since the dawn hours.
According to the sources, the regime forces were killed and wounded, in addition to killing a young man and the wounding of three in Jassem city by a stray bullet as a result of the confrontations, and they pointed out that reinforcements from the regime have arrived in the area.
In this regard, the Director of Education in Daraa issued a decision to suspend work hours in 5 schools and a kindergarten in Jassem city as a result of the clashes.
This escalation on the part of the regime coincides with 11th anniversary of the start of the Syrian revolution, which erupted from Daraa governorate.
