Agencies (Qasioun) - Manchester United‘s summer of turmoil continues this morning with midfielder Paul Pogba featuring on a number of national newspaper back pages linking him with a move to Barcelona.
The news adds to the preseason tumult that has burdened the club and manager Jose Mourinho. Earlier this week, United are thought to have turned down a bid from the Spanish club for Pogba which included a fee in the region of £50m and the freedom to approach their liminal squad members Yerry Mina and André Gomes.
The fee, almost half of what Manchester United paid for the French midfielder before he won a World Cup in Russia, was deemed inadequate for a late swoop.
His agent, Mino Raiola, is reported to have been involved in discussions with the La Liga club over his future.
It has also been reported that Pogba sent a text to Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman at United, relaying his intention to leave.
