  • Who Are The Forces Pushed By Syrian Regime To Enter Afrin?

    Aleppo (Qasioun) – Local media sources close to The Olive Branch joint operations command revealed on Wednesday that the forces attempted to enter Afrin area in the northern countryside of Aleppo is not followed to the National Defense militias.

     

    The command said that it is some local militias followed to the Syrian regime and not followed or funded directly by Iran.

     

    The militia were established by Iran in Syria in 2012 and consists of (Nayrab brigade, Baqer brigade, Al-Bakara tribe, Sufaira brigade, Nobol and Zahraa battalion), according to Olive Branch command.

     

    It added that Al-Baqer brigade was established by Nujabaa movement that consists of 2,000 fighters and funded directly by Nujabaa Iraqi movement.

     

    Al-Sufaira and Nayrab brigades consists of fighters close to Mirac Oral militias, known as Ali Kayaly or "Butcher of Banyas"

     

    The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan have announced on Tuesday that the Turkish army forced Shiite militias followed to the Syrian regime to retract from entering Afrin as the Turkish army advanced towards the regime-backed forces.

     

    Erdogan said "Shiite forces headed towards Afrin at night but the artillery shelling forced them to return from where they came" adding that "this file is closed right now and we can't offer them a chance, they will pay heavily for such acts"
