Damascus (Qasioun) – ISIS took control of several sites on Wednesday morning, following the withdrawal of the regime forces from the Thalithawat and Tal Makhoul districts in the Syrian desert in the Damascus countryside.

This came without any significant clashes between ISIS and the Syrian regime forces. The latter withdrew from the 55-kilometer border of the Tanf military base towards the Sab’a-Pierre area in the eastern Qalamoun in Damascus countryside.

The spokesman of the Revolutionary Commanders' Army, Mohammad Jarrah, told Qasioun that "the forces of the regime and the militias supporting it are unable to cover the areas that they have controlled." He pointed out that "they are moving towards the city of Albuqamal, which they have failed to enter for days.
