Turkey Bans Plastic Bags

Agencies (Qasioun) – Turkey approved a resolution to ban the plastic bags beginning of 2019 which were described as harmful for environment, and added 0.25 TL as cost for each bag.


The Justice and Development AK party offered a resolution last year in the Turkish parliament that states to impose a price on using the plastic bags in the Turkish markets to reduce its usage as it is considered as harmful for the environment and human health.


Turkish minister of environment, Murat Korom, revealed recently a plan to reduce using the Plastic bags by imposing a cost on each bag with 0.25 TL.
