Explosions Near The Russia Base In Syria

Latakia (Qasioun) - An unknown explosion hit the vicinity of the Russian base of Hameimim in Syria on Thursday evening, and its voice was heard 20 kilometers from the Russian base.

Syrian regime media reported that the blast was caused by "the explosion of a foreign object in the sky by the Russian air defenses without any damage."

However, similar sites confirmed that the explosion resulted from launching a missile from the airport of Hameimim towards the Mediterranean," without any official Russian statements so far.

The Russian base has been hit by remote-controlled drones several times in the past few months, killing a number of Russian soldiers, without any one claiming the responsibility for the attacks so far.
